The side event prepares for the third UN World Data Forum, which puts a focus on funding, data for gender issues, and the collection/use of data during pandemics. The event discusses the impact of lacking gender data on COVID-19 responses and the achievement of the SDGs as well as how improved data collection and financing can counteract the latter and generate better policy outcomes. It aims to contribute to the UNWDF through specific recommendations and by preparing the ground for further discussions on gender statistics as a cross-cutting issue.
