A youth-led talkshow: Working towards economic inclusion in the decade of action

Organizer: UN Youth Delegates from Belgium in collaboration with: UN Youth Delegates from Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Kenya and UNMGCY

Approximately 1/5 young people worldwide are not engaged in education, employment or training (NEET). Economic exclusion of youth has far reaching consequences on societies, individuals and on the prospects of implementing the Agenda 2030. While target 8.6 aims at substantially reducing the proportion of NEET youth, it seems that the pandemic we are facing will exacerbate abovementioned inequalities. This doesn’t only impact SDG 8 but also SDG 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 16. Organized by young people from different countries, this side-event wants to open the discussion.
