LGBTI Stakeholder Group
The challenges faced by LGBTI populations in regards to SDG3: Good Health and Wellbeing will be discussed in this event hosted by the LGBTI Stakeholder Group during the 2021 HLPF. Best practices will be shared to ensure that no one is left behind in the response to the pandemic and in the realisation of SDG3. The event is meant to identify key areas of need, connect civil society and States on these needs of LGBTI populations, and most of all to facilitate close collaboration on potential solutions and outcomes on the health and wellbeing of LGBTI persons. The event accordingly aims to:
1. Provide updates on current challenges faced by LGBTI populations in the context of SDG3;
2. Promote experience-sharing and reflection on practical collaboration between different stakeholders;
3. Reflect on lessons learned and best practice in the inclusion of LGBTI persons in response and relief efforts centred around health
4. Address the shortcomings of the implementation of SDG3 and all of the SDGs to those left furthest behind, and find solutions to these shortcomings to be implemented in the coming years.
