Side Events
Side Events at the 2023 HLPF under the auspices of ECOSOC will be organized on the margins of the forum. These events will be sponsored by Member States, the UN system and other intergovernmental organizations and the Major Groups and other accredited Stakeholders.
These side events held outside the official programme will provide additional great opportunities to discuss the theme of the HLPF and the SDGs to be reviewed.
Side Events will be held either in-person at the UN Headquarters in New York or in a virtual format (the virtual link of the event will be posted at the HLPF website). The organizers should indicate clearly on the format of the event in application. Priority for in-person side events at UNHQ will be given to countries presenting their Voluntary National Reviews at the HLPF this year and events with Ministerial participation.
The application of Side Events will be open from 1 April to 31 May 2023.

Special Events
In collaboration with key partners, UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs convenes several high-profile special events to highlight the impact of key sectors of society in driving SDG implementation, including higher education institutions, private sector, local authorities, parliamentarians, among others. Special Events in 2023 will be held fully in-person or in hybrid format. More information is coming.
