His Excellency Arrmanatha Nasir is the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York, assuming his duties on 4 January 2022. Prior to this, Mr. Nasir was the Ambassador to France, Andorra, Monaco and to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), from April 2019 to October 2021. From 2014 to 2019, he was the Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chef de Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. His career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs began in 1997. His diplomatic assignment included Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the United Nations, WTO, and other international organizations in Geneva (2001 – 2005), Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York (2008 – 2012), and Advisor on economic issues and least developed countries to the President of the sixty-fifth session of the General Assembly (2010 – 2011). Prior to joining the Foreign Ministry, Mr. Nasir has a career in banking. Mr. Nasir hold an MBA Leicester University in the United Kingdom and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Buckingham, in the United Kingdom.
