Asia-Pacific and Malaysia SDG Cities Roadmap to accelerate localising SDG to Build Back Better cities in the Region

Participants to this side-event will be equipped with VLR and SDG localization frameworks and a set of practical proven methodologies and tools for monitoring, follow up and review as well as inclusive governance that are driven by culture and innovation to promote build back better cities in the region. Among these, integrated planning and inclusive stakeholder engagement mechanisms allow for dialogue among communities and enable development of a common sustainability vision built on the local culture.      

Participants will be introduced to VLR concepts and each other, including an overview of the Local 2030 Agenda and inspiration for the Voluntary Local Review and subnational governments’ role in the SDGs in Asia-Pacific Region.      

To increase cities capacity as this will also ultimately be part of localising the SDGs to build back better cities in the Asia-Pacific Region
