Building Back Better - Localizing the SDGs

Bright Light Projects

This side event will provide an opportunity to discuss recovery efforts effort and the need for recovery to be people centered and inclusive of all sectors especially for rural women and children. Government and private sector stakeholders should make concerted efforts to create business opportunities to foster innovation, support employment and improve economic drivers for sustained growth. Government at National and local levels can develop ‘job creation hubs” to act as incubators for local ecosystem builders and entrepreneurs

Forging a new relationship and platform with young entrepreneurs will accelerate economic growth and thus contribute towards achieving the Sustainable development Goals (SDGS). The effects of the pandemic have shown us no sector is disaster resilient.  Until we work to continuously localize the SDGs, they remain a high level political discourse disconnected from the rural women, men, and youths who key stakeholders are driving local acceleration in achieving the global goals. Bright Light Projects in Partnership with the Lady B Bless Humanitarian Foundation Inc. on the #LearnTeachSDGs Initiative reaching as many youths as possible to educate them on the benefits the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the importance of implementing and supporting these goals. We have educated more than 800 young people across the globe and certify them on the SDGs and most of them are SDGs ambassadors driving local action and commitment towards the 2030 agenda in their communities and countries.
