Stevenson Holistic Care Foundation

Join the Zoom meeting here

Women were disproportionately affected by the negative impact of COVID-19 Pandemic than men since the outbreak in late 2019.  Hitherto, emerging data and gender dis-aggregated reports from those on the front lines in the health sector, have shown that countless violence against women (VAW) and girls, particularly domestic violence was perpetrated against women and the menace has intensified without any political action by government to curb or bring culprits to book. This is the Shadow Pandemic growing amidst the COVID-19 crisis, especially during locked downs and we need a global collective effort to stop and prevent it from happening again.

The Stevenson Holistic Care Foundation is a non-governmental organization in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, we strategically address goals 3,4,5,13 and 17 of the SDG with a vision to reaching out to humanities. Our base is in Nigeria but we reach out to other Nations, we seek to evaluate the effect of Shadow Pandemic in Less Developed Countries using Nigeria as case study. Among Africans, the prevalence of COVID-19 Pandemic had its toll on women victimized by aggressors and same time was subjected to emotional isolation and became vulnerable to Shadow Pandemic.

A select team of speakers cutting across many sectors will deliver sub topics to address global collective action to prevent this. Their recommendations will give Key action areas to consider when making Government policies to address the issue while addressing SDG goals 4, 5, 14, 15 and 17
