This side event should build on the theme of the HLPF, and link it to the ongoing efforts of the developing countries including Egypt (and other countries), for example: Decent life initiative from Egypt’s side, the localization of SDGs and climate sensitive approach in light of hosting CoP27 (at a later stage we will have to include the initiatives of the other countries who will join us in the side event). This side event shall be conducted in the form of an interactive and multi-disciplinary panel, that encompasses of other member states, UN agencies, civil society, private sector and academia, allowing a debate to share best practices and lessons learnt, and demonstrating the link between the themes of the side event and the HLPF, with a special focus on SDGs 5 and 17. The panel should also shed the light on the centrality of planning, in its local, regional and national context and its role in integrating the sustainability dimensions in strategies, plans and policies.
