Ensuring Equitable Access to Education by Bridging the Digital Divide

Green Hope Foundation

The COVID-19 pandemic has put millions of children, a majority of them girls, out of school. This lack of access to education has been exacerbated by the digital divide, with most children in rural, vulnerable communities in Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States unable to return to school due to lack of access to technology.

This side event seeks to bring together an expert group of panelists from UN Member States, the private sector, academia and civil society to discuss the way forward in enhancing access to technology for such communities, especially their women and girls, in order to facilitate equitable access to education.
