As a VNR-presenting country, Luxembourg will organize jointly with UNFPA a side event on “Equalizing Opportunities for Women and Girls through Innovation”. In line with Luxembourg’s VNR emphasis, among a few others, on SDG5 “gender equality”, as well as SDG9 “Industry, innovation and infrastructure”, this side event will allow to draw further attention on the necessity of innovative solutions to achieve the Agenda 2030 and build back better from the coronavirus disease, highlighting how innovation can harness gender equality.
The objective of the event will be to showcase the power of partnership to advance innovation, including through the Equalizer Accelerator Fund. The event will serve as a platform to present the best practices on possibilities to use innovation to equalize the opportunities for women and girls, empowering women and girls and removing between them and their sexual and reproductive health rights and choices.
