Development actors around the world have continued to acknowledge and reaffirm that the path to build back better and to achieve a just recovery post COVID-19 pandemic requires strengthened cooperation among all stakeholders, including faith leaders who bring a moral voice and grassroots actions to the Global Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.
Faith actors have continued to be at the forefront of supporting local communities in the provision of critical human services such as access to quality education for girls and boys, and embodying gender equality through celebrating women and girls’ contribution to sustainable development within the communities.
Thus, the trilateral partnership of regional faith-based networks for the SDGs from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean is desirous to host a side event at the HLPF in 2022 as it will review in-depth five specific Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 4 on Quality Education, SDG 5 on Gender Equality, and SDG 17 on partnerships for the Goals.
The side event will amplify voices of faith-inspired actions on various partnerships that has spur education that promotes gender equality. Specifically, it will focus on constructive exchange of ideas to sustain important good practices on partnership for the global goals in Education and Gender Equality. It will also put forward policy proposals for responding to the existing and emerging gaps.
