Youth Foundation for Development, Education and Leadership
Rationale for event:
Malala Fund’s Education Champions from countries across Africa and South Asia will share reflections on their countries’ successes and challenges towards achieving SDG 4 and 5. It will be an opportunity to share lessons learned across countries and regions with a view to accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda across these countries.
The side event is based on solidarity and interregional exchange. It will be an opportunity to identify best practices of how civil society can contribute to strengthening policies and institutions of governments and to mobilize multi-stakeholder support and partnerships for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals on education and gender.

Malala Fund Education Champions from Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Pakistan.
Format:
Panelists and a moderator
-A short introduction of the topic and panelists with moderator-curated questions, followed by audience Q&A.
-The first set of questions would be on the positives. The progress so far on the SDGs.
-The latter would be on the challenges, setbacks and roadblocks.
-Recommendations and the way forward.
-Last 20 minutes open for Q&A.
