The United Kingdom’s side event at the High-Level Political Forum will outline how developing countries can unlock sustainable finance to drive economic development and achieve Agenda 2030.
The UK's Permanent Representative/Minister will invite panellists to speak about the importance of sustainable investments that meet environmental, social, reliable and transparent standards to reinvigorate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Given this year’s focus on SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals” at HLPF, we will highlight the UK’s new ‘British Investment Partnerships’ initiative between government and the private sector. MOBILIST (the UK’s public market mobilisation programme) will discuss their work on building links between developing countries and the UK institutional investor base (including the City of London) as described in the UK's new International Development Strategy.
