Small farms – The solution to secure the SDGs on track after the COVID-19 pandemic

The Sikh Human Rights Group

As part of the HLPF on Sustainable Development and its theme of “Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. The Sikh Human Rights Group NGO with support from other NGOs and Member States seeks to hold a side event on the importance of small farms to support the environment and get SDG15 back on track as the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

This one-day event seeks to further galvanize the efforts of the many global alliances and initiatives that are supporting the implementation of SDG 15 (Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss) and to increase awareness on how best to promote efforts to secure the welfare of small farmers across the world and through these actions secure the environment and sustainable land use around the world.
