Strengthening ‘effective’, trust-based partnerships within countries: Lessons from national and local actors around the world

Global Partnership for Effective Development

The Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation is an initiative led by the Swiss Development Co-operation Agency, Democratic Republic of Congo's Ministry of Planning, Bangladesh's Ministry of Finance and Reality of Aid Africa (please find more details here). The side event is led under the ownership of these Co-Chairs. The GPEDC is a multi-stakeholder initiative focused on promoting the effectiveness of development co-operation towards achieving the SDGs. To this end, the GPEDC is also the sole contributor for data on three SDG indicators; one under Goal 5, gender equality, and two under Goal 17, partnerships for the goals, as part of its flagship monitoring exercise
