This side event titled “The Paradox of Partnership: The People’s Perspective on SDG 17 and Agenda 2030” aims to reflect on the true essence of partnership as promoted by Agenda 2030 through SDG 17 by discussing key themes in the Asia-Pacific region, such as sufficient and appropriate financing, genuine mechanisms for multi-stakeholder partnerships, and the people’s alternatives beyond the current framework of development. The event will feature representatives from civil society organizations, people’s movements, and grassroots sectors from the region to share their insights and alternatives to ensure a people-centered, rights-based, and climate-resilient future for all.
