Youth Advocates Ghana-YAG
Following Ghana’s commitment to achieving the SDGs agenda and subsequent effort put in place to localize the SDGs in the country, progress has far been made in some critical sectors. At this year’s HLPF, Ghana will be one of the countries to present its Voluntary National Report on progress made towards achieving of the SDGs. Alongside the national VNR report, Youth Advocates Ghana will be submitting the Youth SDGs Report from as a contribution to enriching the process capturing specific youth interventions, innovation and perspectives on the SDGs implementation within the framework of the 2030 Agenda principle of leaving no one behind (LNOB), which process for the VNRs draw on contributions from groups in SDG 17.14, including indigenous peoples, youth groups, and vulnerable and marginalized groups.
The side event is a dissemination forum to share the Youth SDGs Report, but also to discuss how to implement and make actionable its findings, particularly with the partners (national, international etc) who will be present during the event. After the presentation of the findings, selected speakers from the government, UN Partners, private and CSOs across region will speak, analyze and respond to the findings of the report, and make commitments towards the improvement of limitations identified in the Youth SDGs Report. A plenary session will be held for participants to make inputs and interact with speakers.
