The HLPF includes the Voluntary National Reviews for the implementation of the SDGs, both Finland and Burundi are presenting their reports in the HLPF. In order to highlight the particular condition of indigenous peoples in relation to the theme and the HLPF, the Saami Council, an indigenous non-governmental organisation for Saami people in Finland, Norway, Russia and Sweden, organizes a panel on Indigenous Peoples Participation in VNR processes in Burundi and Finland. The panel will demonstrates the realities both in North and South, albeit the different geographical location, there are many similarities, on the other hand also grave differencies. The best practises and gaps in the VNR processes are presented both by the governments and indigenous peoples.
