Overview:
This side event will provide an opportunity to share approaches to a whole of society VNR as a vehicle to deliver a sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to ensure the lived experience of those who are most affected by the pandemic can be included as part of the assessment and steps towards the recovery. The session will hear from key VNR countries on their steps to engage civil society in their national processes, including Norway, Colombia, Malaysia and Cabo Verde.
Thematic Focus:
Connecting civil society voices on the interlinkages between combatting poverty, reducing inequality and ensuring equitable access to healthcare, at the same time as tackling climate change and guaranteeing transparent and accountable governance. It is essential to connect all stakeholders to build an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in the context of the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development.
