Coordinator of the Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin (COICA) and Law, Environment and Natural Resources (DAR)
Within the framework of the entry into force of the Escazú Agreement in the Latin American and Caribbean region, and in order to provide contributions for the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goal 16.
Aim:
Build a space for dialogue and critical analysis on the proposals from the indigenous peoples of the Amazon Basin that contribute to the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda, specifically the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 that seeks the significant reduction of all forms of violence , such as the growing wave of violence against human rights defenders linked to illegal activities. These proposals will be focused on guaranteeing a safe environment for indigenous human rights defenders within the framework of the entry into force of the Escazú Agreement.
