The program also supports new income for households resulting from the commercialization of production surplus. According to the VNR, approximately 22% of production is traded.
The promoted crops are rich in proteins, vitamins, fibers, calcium, and iron. Their cultivation is complemented with minor species breeding to guarantee a diversified diet. Since the program started in 2012, it has reached 362,373 families.
