The fifth annual SDG 6 Special Event, hosted by the UN-Water Chair and the Under-Secretary-General of UNDESA, will feature the launch of the Country Acceleration Case Studies – highlighting the achievements of Bhutan, Rwanda and Saudi Arabia. Despite differing challenges, all three countries have seen significant advancements towards SDG 6, and will share valuable lessons to inform and inspire progress in other countries.
This will be followed by a conversation between the UN-Water Chair and President of the 2025 session of the Economic and Social Council on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it has the potential to transform the pathway to 2030. The event will also explore ongoing efforts in the implementation of the Water Action Agenda and examine how momentum is building ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference.
