In preparation for the thematic review at the 2026 HLPF, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), in collaboration with relevant UN system partners, will organize a series of Expert Group Meetings (EGMs) on the goals under in-depth review and their interlinkages with other SDGs. These EGMS will bring together experts and stakeholders from the UN system, governments, the private sector, academia, and civil society, to review progress on commitments made at the SDG Summit and since the SDGs were last reviewed at the HLPF.
As part of the preparatory process for the 2026 HLPF, the UN Regional Commissions are convening regional forums for sustainable development were convened by the Regional Commissions. The regional forums are platforms at the regional level for assessing progress and exchanging knowledge, best practices and policy solutions to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, in line with regional priorities and specificities.
