Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC)

The best opportunity to slow the rate of near-term warming globally and in sensitive regions such as the Arctic is by cutting emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) – most notably methane, black carbon and some hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). Widespread reductions, which complement the need for aggressive global action on carbon dioxide, contribute significantly to the goal of limiting warming to less than two degrees. Reducing SLCPs can also advance national priorities such as protecting air quality and public health, promoting food security, enhancing energy efficiency, and allevi...[more]

Economic inclusion and sustainable development of Andean grain producers in Ayacucho and Puno

In recent years, quinoa exports and other Andean grains found in Peru have increased exponentially. Unfortunately, this has not contributed to improve the quality of lives for producers. The situation is even more difficult for women living in the rural communities, who account for 69% of all agricultural producers. They have faced significant hardships compared to male agricultural producers. Therefore, the SDG-F has contributed to the adoption of an inclusive value chain in the production of quinoa and other Andean grains. The increase of the demand in the international market will determ...[more]

To establish programs of formalization of fisheries for the strengthening of artisanal fisheries

With the aim to strengthen artisanal fisheries, the Ministry of Production of Peru will implement programs of formalization of fisheries in order for the whole of the artisanal fisheries fleet to be covered by the law (formalize) within a period of one to four years, depending on the kind of vessel (fishing boat). This would benefit artisanal fisheries by providing them with a better access to fishing resources and by increasing the commercial value of their captures.
